Micah came to Wind Over Wings from the Branford River Raptor Center. Karen Hannon, founder and director there said that he would pluck his flight feathers when he wasn't taking care of orphaned baby Barred Owls. But, because he was diligent in his care, sometimes even overfeeding them, he would stop feather plucking. We are hoping that a change in environment and a concentrated education program schedule will keep him so busy that he will not pluck his feathers. He learned to step up on a glove rapidly and has been doing many programs. Audiences love those liquid, dark eyes!
